Gundam Card Game Revealed by Bandai with 2025 Release

Bandai has officially announced the highly anticipated Gundam Card Game, a new trading card game based on the legendary Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. During the Bandai Card Games Next Plan Presentation, the company confirmed that the game will debut globally in 2025 in three languages: Japanese, English, and Chinese. Fans can look forward to a special early release of the card game in the “Edition Beta” set, which will be available in December 2024.

Gundam Card Game Features and Mechanics

The Gundam Card Game will feature an exciting mix of Unit, Pilot, Base, and Command Cards, each representing different elements from the Mobile Suit Gundam series. Here’s a breakdown of the card types and how they interact during gameplay:

• Unit Cards: These represent the powerful Mobile Suits players can deploy in battle.
• Pilot Cards: Operators from various Gundam series that can be attached to Units to increase their strength.
• Base Cards: Battle ships and supporting characters play a role in the background, assisting with strategy.
• Command Cards: Players can use these to execute special commands or abilities during combat.

The game features a 50-card deck, and one of the most exciting mechanics is the ability to create “Linked Units,” where specific Pilot-Unit combinations unlock extra powers.

Gundam Card Game Edition Beta Set Coming in December

The “Gundam Card Game Edition Beta” set will be released in December 2024. This set will include 16 booster packs, each containing nine cards, and a fixed set of 56 cards. Additionally, players will receive a Legend Rare card, a playsheet, and six dice damage counters. This early access set is perfect for those eager to get a feel for the game before its global launch.

Trial Events and Global Pre-Orders

In conjunction with the beta release, Bandai has announced several trial events, including at the Bandai Card Games Fest 24-25 Early Trial Event in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Orlando, FL. Select stores across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania will also hold trial events. Players can get a sneak peek at the gameplay and prepare for the 2025 launch.
